The original BBC Service, changed it's name from the Home Service sometime in the 60s (?) Famed for calm voices and occasional bouts of hideous over-pretention - usually on the part of Melvin Bragg.

Home of the world's longest running soap opera (The Archers), the Shipping Forecast, Brian Perkins, Test Match Special, Just A Minute and I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue among others.
