GGF6
From Join Me
Good Good Friday VI, a.k.a. GGF6, was the sixth of the Good Good Friday Join MEets, at which Joinees perform Random Acts of Kindness ("RAoKs") around the streets of Nottingham, UK, with the organisational backup of the local Joinees, Team Nottingham.
It took place on the real Good Friday, and the surrounding days, around 9th-12th April 2009.
[edit] Football
The event included a "north versus south" football match on the Saturday, the fifth time this traditional event has taken place. The north enjoyed an incredible 10-9 victory — holding on to the trophy for a second successive year and thus breaking the previous cycle of the trophy alternating between north and south which it had done since the beginning.
All of team north's goals were scored by Joinee Bee, and the triple hat-trick has now been dubbed (appropriately, given his gangly height) the hat-stand. Most of team south's goals were scored by the equally impressive Joinee Stooz. Joinee Bee won the "Man of the match" award, and the "Matt Bee award" went appropriately enough to his nemesis, the souther goalkeeper Joinee Del, who had in fact saved a great many potential goals during the match.
The refereeing team was a little bit of a last-minute affair but Joinee Mum White made sterling use of a brolly rather than a yellow card!
[edit] Charity donation
The total amount raised for charity by raffles, donations, the mix-CD swapping, and other means was in the region of £750!
